Snowing like crazy this morning and blowing a gale. Winter arrives at last. I was scheduled to guide a party of duck hunters this morning but cancelled on account of the anticipated wind the snow is completely unexpected. For a brief time while I had the dogs out it was snowing quite hard. It has lightened up some but is still snowing. The latest forecast guess has us getting around 6 inches or so. Just enough to make the Christmas decorations look great.
Hopefully the wind will go down tomorrow and I will be able to have this father and son out for a one day hunt. Interestingly I had called them and cancelled because the forecast was not at all good for the two days. They came anyway, I offered a freshwater hunt this morning but they declined (good call) If the wind goes down tomorrow they may get in something tomorrow but I have my doubts at the moment about even getting on the water.
The lobbying season got underway this week with a press conference and a series of meetings in Augusta and Bangor so the transition will be pretty quick. At the moment we are waiting to find out who the members of the various legislative committees will be. I have several meetings next week and then a couple of slow weeks to finish out the year.
