The last day of striper fishing for a while.

Today will be my last striper fishing trip for this year. It is a perfect fall day with a crystal clear blue sky and around 80% foliage change. The last two mornings have been very cold. In fact yesterday I thought that my clients might freeze. None of us was expecting it to be that cold or to be so slow in warming up. Fishing is slow but there are still fish around and I had a really big striper break my tippet Thursday morning. Here is one of the fish we caught yesterday.

I guided one hunting party this week to round out the variety. A very enjoyable day with upland birds in the morning and sitting over a spread of duck decoys in the afternoon until sunset. There were plenty of woodcock and grouse but the duck hunting was slow I think in part to the warm afternoon. So warm that we were swatting mosquitoes while waiting for ducks . I am sure that the coming week will be delightful as well and I am looking forward to spending a few days at Libby Ca mps.

I must confess though that I will be ready for a break by the end of October it has been a great and very busy season but I need a few days off to catch my breath and now to put away some of my stuff.
