Fun end to the summer season

I am in the pause between my summer fishing and the fall bird hunting seasons, it has been very busy since  June so a few days off are a real treat. The pleasant end was about the folks I got to spend time with this month. In a period of ten days I had the great fortune of guiding three clients each have fished with me for over 25 years. Hard to imagine in know.

There is nothing like visiting with old friends and talking over our adventures while creating new memories. All three are fishermen and at least some of the time fish with their wives, children and grandchildren. What a great privilege to be a part of someone’s life and family for such a long period of time.

We spend our time talking over families and things that have happened on past trips but rarely talk about big fish rather we talk about the notable things like an eagle diving to get a brood of ducklings multiple times (and missing every time) a coyote watching us fish from a saltwater ledge or young mink working his way past us while we ate lunch.

Great memories and great folks needless to say a fun way to cap this part of my year.
