In today’s Bangor Daily News according to the most recent census, Maine is the most rural state. How do they figure this stuff out? Seems hard to imagine that we are more rural than say North Dakota or Montana but I digress. While many will lament our rural nature, as a working guide I am delighted. What it means to me and more importantly my clients is that almost anywhere in the state and certainly in the mid-coast region I can provide an experience with a remote feel. A little travel and we can be in truly remote country.
Either way the experience is very different from clients’ everyday lives and offers a chance to see landscapes that are unlike anywhere else in the country. I guess I already knew that. To create great outdoor memories you need the right environment. Sounds like even the census thinks we have it here!
