I had the pleasure of taking a couple from the UK on day trip yesterday. The day started with rain showers but they were soon over and the day improved to a crystal afternoon with a few clouds. We visited a list of sights that I was able to choose to provide a sampling of the Maine coast.
We visited Point Lookout in Northport for the view from the top of the mountain, the observatory in the new bridge in Bucksport, the Craig Brook fish hatchery, the Schoodic Peninsula, Cadillac mountain and a few other spots. I enjoyed being able to show these folks around and having nearly perfect weather made it easy to show off what I thought were the most interesting sights. As we stood on the top of Cadillac Mountain I was given the quote that is the title of this post. I have to say that I agree and it is nice to have someone with fresh eyes confirm it.
