Wind and Rain Overnight

Overnight we endured an early winter storm with a howling southeast wind and lots of rain. The overnight temperature warmed to 51 degrees. We had wind gusts that were over 40 mph. This morning the wind is shifting to the south and beginning to diminish. I expect that the rain will stop soon.

Disappointing to lose the snow that we had although the current forecast calls for light snow most of the week as the storm gradually meanders away and we are on its cold side. Hopefully we will get enough to make the ground white again for Christmas. Although with a couple of cords of firewood still sitting in my woodlot that need to be put in the garage I can’t say that I am unhappy with the current lack of snow.
