Our Eagle Population is Growing

This summer has been like the last few in that a trip without an eagle sighting on fresh or saltwater was unusual. Now word this week that the eagle population is growing at eight percent a year and this excellent map that shows the known eagle nests in 2012 in Maine. Simply amazing to see them all as points on a map and yes the ones on most of my eagle watching trips are on the map.

Since most of the nests I watch each produced at least one eaglet I would guess that the growth will continue.
