Perfect September Weather

Last week was very busy with fishing trips and a canoe trip thrown in for good measure. The days were exquisite with cool mornings, bright sunshine and perfect blue skies. Pictures tell the story far better than I could with only words. Several days freshwater fishing including a loon that fishing right next to the boat one morning,  a day with Captain George Harris on the Kennebec river for stripers (picture of the lunch that I served on his boat). The best part for me was sharing every day with folks that appreciated the great weather and the special place that mid coast Maine is.

Alas, another FW season in Maine has come to an end. Granted I only spend two weeks up here with family & friends.
Fishing with Capt. Don is always the highlight of my time in Maine. I have been tying flies for Don for a few years now, & I usually bring up some other patterns to try on Maine Fish. There is alot of friendly banter when the flies I try do not work and the ones I tie for Don do...You never know where he is going to take you, or what lake is hot. This year we went to Miginticook(Probably spelled that wrong!), where I caught this little gem on one of my last casts. A great way to end a perfect day!...Thanks Capt.~ see you next year!
