Winter Turns Toward Spring

The winter weather is still here that is for sure with a little snow overnight to freshen up our landscape and a morning low of 14. Still the sun rises a little further north each day. As you can see in the picture it is now well north of Spruce Mountain after being south of Pleasant (the hill to the right) on the shortest days in December. The chickadees are singing every morning and our goldfinches are starting to turn gold again.

My telephone and e-mail also indicate that the summer is on its way. Several times a week I communicate with someone about a trip they are planning and we set up a date to spend time outdoors together. After a long winter of meetings I have to confess that I am very much looking forward to spring arriving and the summer season being in full swing.
