Pretty winter day!

The latest snowstorm was a bit of a disappointment in that we only got about six inches of snow. It did not miss us by much though I heard from some friends further east and heard reports of a couple Canoes in snow waiting for springof feet of snow.  After the storm though we had a beautiful winter day, not too cold (high of 25) clear blue skies but quite windy.

The most interesting thing is that the freezing rain from Friday morning had coated everything with ice. Today as the sun shone down on the trees the ice coatings came off in the wind and fell like showers of crystal. At times blowing far out into the field on the breeze, can’t say that I have ever seen that before.

We now have a pretty good snow cover on and the snowshoeing is perfect in the woods out of the breeze. Great days to be outdoors in Maine!
