Another Season Draws to a Close

The season is definitely winding down now. I guided a grouse hunter on Monday and fished on Tuesday. This morning’s snow really puts a cap on the season end (picture). I will continue to fish mostly for fun for the next few weeks and any warm afternoon is a good chance to work the dogs but pretty much it is over. I did fish a couple of days last week after the first big snowstorm and the scenery could not be beat, here is a picture from Round Pond in Union.

My recent trips on Megunticook Lake have brought some very nice rainbow trout to the boat on both flies and spinning gear. The bass that were caught on Tuesday were all over 3 pounds a very nice largemouth complimented with a couple of rainbows.

A great way to end a busy summer and fall season. The Executive Director of the Maine Professional Guides Association’s meeting season now begins!
