Questions for a Monday Afternoon

I have two things that I am wondering about and perhaps you can help. First as I mentioned earlier Maine Outdoors is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. I am trying to come up with a good way to celebrate. Perhaps an event? Cookout? Kids fishing event? Fundraiser for a local charity; perhaps the local land trust or the Maine Guides Education Fund (the guide’s association charitable arm)? I have a few ideas and am seeking more, have any?

Second I am considering establishing a downtown presence in Rockland or Camden where the trips we offer would have exposure to folks strolling and thinking about what they might do on their Maine vacation. Actually this is a 2 part the first for those who are mid coast visitors or current clients. Would you have be more likely to find Maine Outdoors if it was located downtown or is an internet presence enough? Part two for the local readers, do you have any leads on a small downtown location in either town?

There I figured that you all would have had enough talk about snow to last for a while. Yes we have some on the ground, the cross country skiing is pretty good right now but it does not impact our getting around. Supposed to be warm (for January) and pleasant all week. Hope it is where you are too!

Another thought. About location in Camden or ? The creative side of me thinks of a mobile business office. With log siding. In some Campgrounds there are park model units with log siding. What about a smaller towable version so you can park it in Freeport, or Camden or anywhere there might be festivals or happenings to draw clientele from. Maybe refurbish a camper to your liking and Maine Outdoors image. Not sure what the rents would be like in a single town venue. No clue on that. You could travel all over the country with a towable office. Tax advantage? Wish you the best wherever you go.
