After removing the cover from the Lund Alaskan over the weekend getting out on the water was looking easy. Today’s weather forecast did not look promising but the radar image showed that I had a few hours before the rain started in earnest. So I loaded a fly rod and hooked the Lund to the Sequoia and headed to Megunticook Lake in Camden.
It was windy but not cold and the air was heavy with the rain that would be falling before lunch. Tried my usual rainbow trout spots with no luck. The most interesting observation was a pair of Mute Swans in one of the coves. Not sure that they will stay very long but an interesting sighting.
Stayed on the water for a couple of hours and headed in just as the rain got underway. Over the next few weeks I will be visiting most of the places that I fish during the season just to see what has changed since last year. Not a bad thing to have on my to do list!
