Clients usually ask what kind of fishing is my favorite expecting to hear that I fly someplace exotic in the winter and spend long days chasing some legendary fish. But the real truth is that my favorite is helping 
a family go fishing for the first time and catching a bunch of perch and sunfish.
The delight on a kid’s face as they reel in their first fish simply makes it all worthwhile. I have been doing a few family fishing trips over the last couple of weeks. One of the moms posted a few photos and a video on the Maine Outdoors Facebook Page. Take a look and you will see what I mean.
One sad note though was that I realized on that trip it is most likely the last one for this year with kids everywhere either back in school or headed there this week. On the upside we are into the best weather of the year over the next couple of months.
