When I meet one of you at a boat launch I always allow extra travel time to get there ahead of you. Most of the time the extra 15 or 20 minutes is not needed and I have a few minutes to fish. Never far from the launch and mostly to see what fly or lure might work and where fish might be feeding.
This morning I was able to take advantage of those few minutes as the rain started to fall on Megunticook Lake. I planned to make maybe a dozen casts and this fellow volunteered on the third cast. It took the remaining few minutes that I had to get him to the boat on the 6 weight fly rod. A great way to start my morning!
