Amazing Opportunity

You may know that Maine’s bear biologists track bears using radio collars as part of their study of the population and as part of that they need to visit the dens of collared bears every winter. To get samples examine cubs and maintain the collars. Sometimes they take along members of the public as part of an ongoing education effort about that program and this year Argy and I were invited something that she has wanted to do for a number of years.

Birds are singing this morning!

It has been quite winter that is for sure record cold and unusual amounts of snow. The banks are still shoulder high along the roads when we walk in the morning. The last few days though the temperatures have been a little higher and the road in front of the office has been muddy a sure sign of spring! Every morning now the birds are singing loudly and the finches are checking out the garage in earnest so surely spring can’t be far off.
