The new fishing rule book just arrived. Rulebooks for each season land here because Maine Outdoors is a license agent and licenses when required are included in the price of our fishing trips. Most noticeable is the cover of the new book, not a photo but rather a reminder in big letters across the cover that this book is good for two years and not to throw it away.
Argy and I have been walking in the evenings this week. We are taking advantage of the pleasant March weather and the switch to Daylight savings time. Two evenings ago I heard a single Beeep.. and I knew that spring was here for sure. For those who do not know it is the sound that the male woodcock makes when getting ready to perform his territory / mating ritual.
Argy Noah and I hiked to the top of Maiden Cliff in Camden. The cliff is very plain from the lake and I usually point out the cross high up on the cliff face to clients on fishing trips. I also recommend the short hike up the trail for the view; you can see out over Penobscot Bay for some distance and look down on the lake.
