The weather today was perfect. A clear blue sky without a cloud, little breeze, high temperature right around 70, fall color is really starting to show in the trees. A brilliant red maple here and there sprinkled onto the green hillsides.
I was guiding a very pleasant client who, oh by the way, can cast a fly. We fished on Megunticook Lake in Camden under perfect conditions. The fish were grumpy with lots of follows and refusals made abundantly evident by the clear water. We managed to get their number after lunch, which we ate at a picnic table on the shore under brilliant early fall sunshine.
How lucky can you get to spend a day as perfect as this one on the water. I hope that all of you take some time to enjoy the outdoors during this stretch of perfect Maine weather.
