This week I have been on a variety of trips from fishing with families for perch and mackerel to fishing on the Saint George out of the Grand Lake Canoe and the Lund Alaskan. None though was as pleasant as the sunset canoe trip on Tuesday evening.
We paddled up into Round Pond and made a short jaunt into the Saint George toward Union fairgrounds. Then headed back into Round Pond where the clients enjoyed wine and appetizers they had brought for the occasion; while sitting on the big rock looking out on the still water of the pond.
We then headed over to the far side of the pond to see if we could find the loons. The sun set in the background and the shadows lengthened as we slowly made our way back down to Seven Tree Pond and were off of the water just as darkness started to fall. A perfect evening with great folks, ideal weather and pleasant conversation
I have always wondered why more folks do not take advantage of this trip but I suppose that part of it being so special for me is that I only make it a few times a summer!
