Hard to believe but it will be August tomorrow. Some of you know that I measure the summer by the shoreline wildflowers and the Cardinal flowers and Joe Pie weed are in full bloom. Which means that summer is drawing to a close. I have been enjoying many trips with new and repeat clients.
One of the most rewarding parts of my life as a guide is the repeat clients I see. Some I see every year for a trip or two or others like this party after a gap of 20 or more years. Amazing that they remember and want to repeat an experience from long ago like this canoe trip with family and friends.
The memories made outdoors are good and are worth recreating!

July Striper Report |
Summer Trout My summer is normally filled with bass, stripers, perch and mackerel. This young man wanted to go trout fishing; not my first choice mid-summer but I knew we might catch a few fish. Our day started off with a bang with brightly colored native brook trout taking almost every fly cast to them. The first few hours were magic with good numbers of fish coming to the canoe. |
Variety!
An interesting week here, fishing on fresh and saltwater. Stripers, mackerel, bass and even a few pickerel in the mix. I enjoy showing all of my clients parts of the area that they would never see on their own and enjoying being outdoors with their friends and family.

July Striper Fishing
This week has me on the saltwater almost every day mostly striper fishing although a few mackerel will make it into the mix. The report is that yes there are stripers in the Saint George River. I am finding them scattered throughout the river. Not the big numbers of years gone by but enough to keep it interesting.
