Yes it is full summer in Maine. After a long grey June and even early July with lots of fog and rain we have had a few sunny days and even a couple that would qualify as hot.
My schedule reflects the fact that the summer season is in full swing. I am helping someone create an outdoor memory at least six days a week.
I took a few minutes to reflect this morning and realized that I already know well over half of my clients. More precisely just over 60% of the folks I will have the pleasure of spending time with this summer have been on a trip with me before. Pretty humbling when you stop to think about it.
I enjoy the late June early July stretch a little more because I have several families who I see every year during that time. We all look forward to spending that time together. Yes we catch a few fish, tell a few stories mostly though we share a few laughs. It is a delight to hear that “my kids talk about fishing with you all year” as I did recently.
After being in this business for 37 years it is the part that makes me never want to stop. Well that and being told by a young couple this week that I was not allowed to retire until their daughter (1 year old) has caught her first fish with me. What a great opportunity and one that I look forward to.
The rest of July is nearly filled for me, and August is heading in the same direction. The schedule sometimes changes and dates open up, so it is always worth checking. If you are planning to spend some time outdoors this summer let’s make a plan soon.
