Another year has flown by! I was fortunate to spend many great days enjoying all that the Maine Outdoors has to offer. From the first fishing trips in April to the last trip in November and an afternoon of cross country skiing on Thanksgiving some great memories were made. I hope that you had a chance to get outdoors this year and made memories of your own.
This time of year is always one of reflection for me thinking about the year gone by and scheming for the one coming up. The past year was very busy not only with guiding but the Maine Professional Guides Association had a very prominent role in a referendum question on the ballot in November. As the Associations executive director it took a great deal of my time and energy. Fortunately it ended well for my fellow guides and I certainly learned a lot of new things along the way. Looking to the future has me thinking about the upcoming season and looking forward to getting back out on the water. I am working on a new trip offering that will be multi day trip to a Maine Sporting Camp, including some moose watching and visits to remote places in the Maine Woods. Details available later this winter. Of course I am still planning to fish with many of you on the fresh and salt water. Personally I am looking forward to learning more about the pike that have begun to show up in the Saint George River. Maine Outdoors will be twenty eight years old in February a number that amazes me when I think about it. Not one year would have been possible without the support and friendship of all of my clients. Thank you all for spending time outdoors with me and wishing you the very happiest of holiday seasons.

Late Season Has An Upside!
We can see the sunrise! This time of year the days are short here in Maine. A rainy or snowy afternoon has the lights on in the house by three thirty or so in the afternoon and sunrise is at around seven AM. The sun rises further to the south every day which puts the sunrise directly in the view from the house and office. Something we cannot see in the summer as it rises out of our view.
