The longest days of summer have now passed and we begin the swing back toward short days and long cold nights. Not to say that we will not enjoy the summer that is now stretching out before us but before we know it it will be over. I am stacking firewood in my spare moments and hope to have it all in before long.
The weather has been wet and cool so far this month and the forecast for the next week is not an improvement. It appears that most of the loons were not successful in hatching a chick because of the high water this spring and early summer. The one in the picture is the only one I have seen so far (it is on Megunticook Lake in Camden). I am still able to get on the water with clients and we are able to have a great time even if the sun does not shine!
This past week I guided what I expect will be the last Maine Outdoors Canoe trip with a family from Utah. It was a delight to be sure with eagles, loon and fish all cooperating. I forgot how delightful a morning in a canoe can be. That trip like many others lately got a great review.
Fishing will be the focus for the next several weeks on saltwater and freshwater including a number of family fishing trips where someone's first fish is in the plan. Please plan to join me as well.
Come
write or call to make your reservation or
make one online here to enjoy some time on the water between now and the return of winter!
We all know it is coming!
Best regards,
