The summer season is off to a great start. Mostly good weather and lots of time on the water. I have the good fortune to spend a lot of that time with younger people. OK I admit it most everyone is younger than me at this point. The thing that I enjoy most about spending time outdoors with them is the enthusiasm that they have. I have done a few eagle watching trips and many fishing trips were the simple joy of being there has been central to the trip.
Much of this joy is tied to their success in doing what they hoped they might, like catch a fish or one bigger than they have before. I am also learning lots of new terms like PB which means your personal best. Even an old dog I suppose.
Included in this enthusiasm is or son Nicholas who has purchased an island on one of the nearby ponds and is setting up a campsite. While it is far from his vision it has come along very nicely with a wall tent for sleeping and separate dining and cooking tents. It is a great chance for us to get out and spend a few weekends on the pond over the summer.
Stripers are back in the Saint George and for sure the young eagles are hatched and starting to spend time outside of the nest. Things are moving right along outdoors.
Reservations are running well above my usual numbers with many folks that i did not see last year returning. Going to be a very busy summer and I’m looking forward to every minute of it. Hope that I will see you!
