Fall is definitely here with cool mornings and the maples along the river a brilliant red. September is a month of transition for me. The last canoe trip happens around Labor Day and the fishing trips tend to be fly fishing all month. As water temperatures drop fishing improves and gradually I spend more time in the woods with the dogs.
I will be at Libby Camps in northern Maine a good part of October and am looking forward to spending time in that remote region. Of course there are still fishing trips going in October and it sounds like a few even into November this year.
This newsletter marks a change in that from now until early spring it will come out monthly instead of every two weeks. I'm sure that I'll have lots of interesting stories by the time the next issue comes out.
To me the stretch between September first and the end of October is the best part of the year in the Maine Outdoors get out end enjoy it!
