The season changed this week autumn is here for sure, cooler nights, crystal clear skies and highs around seventy degrees. Many folks are realizing that summer is nearly over and I have had a number of last minute reservations for family fishing trips. Some families are rushing to squeeze in just one more outdoor adventure for the season.
Some of those trips are tough fishing right after those cold fronts but somehow a few perch and bass always seem willing to make a child smile! Others are the usual with fast fishing and the school of fish gathered around the boat where we can watch the action.
The final change I notice is that the light gets flat and it is much harder to see into the water even on my clearest ponds. Not something most clients notice but a real nuisance to someone who has grown accustomed to seeing the underwater structure.
Pretty soon the kids will all be back in school and the fishing will really pick up as we head toward fall, my favorite season of the year is coming right up!
