This morning we woke up to snow covering the ground and more falling. This is not supposed to be a big “snow event” but rather a garden variety storm. Leaving us with a few inches of new snow on the ground. Just in time for Christmas. We are forecast to get another small storm on Friday and then another early next week. Needless to say it looks like a white Christmas is in the bag here in mid-coast Maine.
Temperatures have been all over the place from the 50’s on Monday to the single numbers last week. Hopefully they will settle out and we can all get used to wearing our winter coats, hats and gloves.
The only down side of today’s storm is that I need to travel to Freeport for a meeting of the Maine Tourism Association Board of Directors. I expect slow going and will allow plenty of time. Clients always ask if it is even possible to get around in the winter here and are always surprised when I tell them that most of the time it is only an inconvenience. The roads are cleared as soon as the snow stops most of the time and even on the back roads like this one road conditions are pretty good. In fact the plow has already been by this morning while I had my second cup of coffee.
