Today my clients and I enjoyed near perfect weather for a fishing trip on Seven Tree and Round ponds. Clear blue skies with a breeze from the west and just enough white clouds to show off the color. It was cool when we started and when out of the sun a jacket was in order. A few trees along the water have started to turn red and the grass along the river has that golden autumn hue.
To complement the scene the fishing was quite good and included a few bass over three pounds. The pickerel have started their annual move to the shallows to take advantage of the juvenile alewives headed down river. I am looking forward to great trips over the next month or so; my favorite time of year! Get out and enjoy it.
