Trout Fishing picks up

My days have been spent working to get all of the boats ready for the coming season; everything from electrical problems to fiberglass repairs. All are simple enough but take considerable time and when working with fiberglass patience. The Lund Alaskan is set to go and I am confident in it after a sea trial in the lower Saint George yesterday. Everything worked as it should and I am sure that it will provide an excellent fishing platform for the coming seasons. This morning I am applying a new coating of fiberglass cloth to the stern of the Grand Lake Canoe.

Thinking back over the last 10 years

I made the title of last weeks newsletter time sure flies. I got to thinking about how quickly time has flown by, when Maine Outdoors was first started our oldest son Noah was a newborn. This spring he is taking his test to become a guide and will complete his second year in college. Our youngest son will graduate from high school next month, it hardly seems possible that they are not little boys playing in the yard or riding their bikes to school.

Speaking at the Rockland Kiwanis

My trip to Groton, CT last week was very pleasant, Argy was able to go along and we had a sort of business vacation. The drive was simple and using the GPS for guidance we arrived with no trouble without directions, pretty amazing when you think about it. When we arrived at the Elks Club there was a marina out back. We walked out and met a couple of fishermen with a nice catch of winter flounder and an excellent recommendation for a place to eat dinner.
