Snow this morning!

When I got up this morning the lawn and field across the street were covered with a light coating of snow. Overnight the temperatures had fallen and today is clear but chilly. It won’t be long now until it is time to get back on showshoes and see what tracks are in the woodlot.

I did get in one last afternoon of pickerel and bass fishing on Tuesday afternoon it was perfect for late November warm cloudy and almost no breeze. The fish cooperated even though our water is now stained a dark brown by the newly fallen leaves. It is fun to be out on the ponds with the leaves down and see what is normally hidden behind. No big discoveries to report.

I will be switching to the moving water of the saint George river as time allows and temperatures fall. The newly stocked trout are always an excellent distraction on a warm early winter afternoon. Take a few minutes and get out to enjoy late fall.

Don has fished over 100 times this year, reaching his goal of fishing his age and then some. Unlike cell phone minutes, his fishing times do not roll over from year to year.
