Fun end to the summer season

I am in the pause between my summer fishing and the fall bird hunting seasons, it has been very busy since  June so a few days off are a real treat. The pleasant end was about the folks I got to spend time with this month. In a period of ten days I had the great fortune of guiding three clients each have fished with me for over 25 years. Hard to imagine in know.

The best part?

Last week when fishing with someone new I was asked “so what is the best part of being a guide?” a different perspective from the usual tell me the bad parts question I usually get. I quickly responded that I really appreciate seeing the place that I live and work through the eyes of visitors who are seeing it for the first time or are here because they love it.

Ah September!

Of course the weather is still way too warm but the pace slows a little. There is time to relax some and make a few repairs. Today’s challenge is the garage door but that is another story. After this stretch of warm weather we begin the turn towards fall with clear crisp days and cool nights. The time of year I always look forward to.
