After travelling over the holidays I have come to appreciate that the trips Maine Outdoors offers are not only needed but a rare opportunity in today’s world. Over the last two weeks Argy and I along with our youngest son visited family in Ohio and New Jersey. It was an eye opening experience. First waking up on Christmas morning in a hotel was not as bad as I anticipated and the visitors experience is all about the folks that you meet. More on that later.
This morning Argy and I were on our walk, early and it was still dark. We rounded the corner on the other side of our hill and were delighted to see the brilliant orange moon setting in the west. It was cloudy so we were only able to see it for a few brief minutes low on the horizon.
Mid November Argy and a few of her friends spent a weekend at one of the cottages on Seven Tree Pond. That Saturday was beautiful, warm with no wind. In fact it was amazingly still, the surface of the pond was like glass all afternoon. We went for a scenic boat trip in the Lund down the Saint George River, through White Oak Pond and down the river as far as the Middle Road in Warren.
